Join us for the ninth annual Race for Our Kids presented by the Sinai Hospital Auxiliary on Sunday, September 29, 2013. The race features 5K and 10K courses as well as a 1 Mile Family Fun Walk and has something for everyone - from the elite runner to the novice weekend warrior. Amenities include cash prizes (10K overall winners only), a long sleeved technical shirt and a post-race party sponsored by The Classic Catering People. All proceeds benefit pediatric oncology at the new Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai.
Please note, due to insurance regulations, each participant (including members of families and teams), must register individually.
The 5K and 10K courses offer rolling hills and beautiful scenery throughout the Mt. Washington neighborhood. You can run or walk the 5K (3.1 miles) course and it is a great distance for those looking for more than the 1 mile walk distance. The 10K (6.2 miles) is more challenging and features $4,100 in cash prizes. Please note, no strollers or dogs will be permitted on the 5K or 10K race routes for the safety of all participants.
1 Mile Family Walk
The 1 Mile Family Walk travels around the Sinai Hospital campus and is great for families with children or those who want to participate in the race without completing the 5K or 10K. The Sinai Hospital Auxiliary hosts an interactive, themed walk with lots of fun surprises! Strollers are permitted on the 1 Mile Family Walk route. There is no fee for children 5 and under to participate but we do ask that you register them so we can have the appropriate number of supplies for the walk.
We have once again partnered with Greenlight Apparel to provide our participants with a quality, long-sleeved technical race shirt. We chose Greenlight Apparel not only for the quality of their shirts but also for their commitment to sustainability, positive change and fighting illegal child labor. Not just “sweatshop free,” their mission is to aggressively work to eradicate child labor practices and human trafficking. Greenlight Apparel dedicates 10% of each sale to humanitarian partner charities working to eliminate illegal manufacturing sites, build schools and create economic opportunities in developing countries.
